Shaheen’s Department Store

Shaheen’s of Louisville has two locations. The one here is located at
2604 Portland Ave, Louisville KY. The Shaheen family has owned and operated this department store in Louisville since 1922. They carry lots of different work-related clothing and specialize in quality workwear for a reasonable price. It’s very old-fashioned and from my experience quite charming; definitely a fun place to get school uniforms or work clothing.

  • Heyo, I’m Anthony, and I’m thrilled to announce the beginning of this site! I should start off with what this project is all about. I’ve always loved historical, forgotten, or abandoned places, but in recent years many of these places here in Louisville are getting swept away by our rapidly advancing society. Older places are often discarded; it’s cheaper most of the time to build something new instead of restoring it. That’s why I’ve been compiling places to share with you all and maybe, just maybe, we’ll come to appreciate and maybe even save, or at the minimum, appreciate, these places.
